Bachelor’s or higher degree preferred but not required and must be in related Communications, Digital Media, Audio Visual Production, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in video production, sound production, lighting, and/or editing.
The AV Technician shall set up, operate, and maintain audio and video equipment for events and productions.
Troubleshoot technical issues, manage equipment inventory, and may be involved in design and installation of AV systems.
The AV Technician should be multi-disciplined and able to cover multiple major functions within a studio production environment and have availability to work outside of normal business hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.
Demonstrate proficiency with professional video production equipment (cameras, lighting, audio), professional sound equipment (mics, mixers, etc.) and editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Proven expertise in shooting, writing, clipping and editing to create compelling stories across both broadcast and digital platforms.
Demonstrated ability to craft compelling content, secure high-profile interviews, and consistently perform under tight deadlines, covering a diverse range of topics (e.g., news, health, policy, science).
Excellent storytelling, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Must be able to work in Washington DC and/or Silver Spring, MD
