IGC is looking for a Senior Tableau Web and Digital Interface Designer to join our team in support of our DoD customer. This position is mostly remote with occasional onsite support required in Alexandria, VA. A current DoD Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities Include:
Design, develop, and maintain responsive and scalable web applications with a focus on user experience (responsive scaling – desktop, tablet, mobile layouts).
Integrate front-end components with back-end services using RESTful APIs and JWT authentication.
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Develop and maintain data visualizations using the Tableau Embedding API.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a US Citizen with a current DoD Secret clearance.
Bachelor's degree in business analytics, computer science, information systems, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Must reside within a commutable distance of, or be willing to travel to, Alexandria, VA in order to support in person meetings as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
Tableau/BI Dashboard Expertise:
Extensive experience embedding Tableau (or comparable BI products) dashboards into websites.
Demonstrated proficiency configuring Tableau-connected apps to ensure secure communication between Tableau Cloud and external applications using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for authentication.
Proven ability to: Restrict embedding permissions for specific content and locations; Implement single sign-on (SSO) for seamless access to embedded dashboards without the need for complex IdP integration; Enable direct user authentication from external applications; Programmatically manage Tableau REST API access on behalf of users using JWTs.
Web Development Proficiency:
Expert-level knowledge of modern web development technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js, etc.).
Deep understanding of server-side technologies (Node.js, Python, etc.) and RESTful API design principles.
Strong experience with responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
Security & Accessibility Focus:
In-depth knowledge of web application security best practices, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
Familiarity with secure coding practices and experience implementing authentication/authorization mechanisms.
Demonstrated knowledge of 508 compliance standards and experience building accessible web interfaces.
Cloud & Infrastructure:
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure) and serverless architectures (Azure Functions, AWS Lambda).
Familiarity with containerization using Docker and related orchestration tools.
Communication & Collaboration:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Proven track record of working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Experience with the Defense Media Agency's WEB.mil - AFPIMS platform.
Familiarity with government security protocols and standards.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG).
Master’s degree in business analytics, computer science, information systems, or related field.
